Eye Care Services Offered

These are among the eye or vision disorders diagnosed and treated by Dr. Lisa and her caring staff to help maximize your eye and vision health.

Near-sightedness -- Also known as myopia, near-sightedness is marked by difficulty clearly seeing more distant objects, making activities such as driving difficult. We can treat this common vision disorder through corrective lenses (eyeglasses or contacts) or surgery.

Far-sightedness -- Also known as hyperopia, this vision disorder is the opposite of near-sightedness. It is characterized by blurry vision regarding up-close objects, such as when reading. Treatment options include corrective lenses and surgery.

Astigmatism -- Our patients with astigmatism have blurry vision and difficulty seeing objects both near and far away. Corrective lenses or surgery can correct the problem.

Cataracts and macular degeneration -- Both eye and vision disorders tend to affect us as we age. Cataracts are marked by a cloudiness of the lenses of the eyes. The cataracts can be surgically removed once they have ripened. Macular degeneration can lead to total or partial vision loss. Treatments, depending on the type of the disorder, can range from vitamins to laser surgery. Early diagnosis of both conditions is possible, thanks to the non-invasive optical coherence tomography (OCT) diagnostic tool Dr. Lisa will use during your exam.

Eye allergies and infections -- You know by that itchy, burning sensation and the pink or red shading to your eyes that you have allergies. Some are seasonal, related to the pollen in the air or other substances, while other eye allergies can stay with you year-round. Similarly, eye infections can have a variety of causes. Whatever the cause, Dr. Lisa can alleviate the symptoms with eye drops and other treatment options.

Dry eye syndrome -- Dry eye is a temporary or chronic condition marked by the inability of the eye to create enough tears to keep the eyeball moistened. It is particularly common as we get older. Your eye doctor’s treatments can range from eye drops to minor surgery.

Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) -- We all stare into too many screens for too long, for both work and pleasure. Too much time in front of a computer screen can result in itchy or burning eyes, blurriness and headaches. If you have any of these symptoms, see Dr. Lisa. She will diagnose your problem and recommend sensible solutions even if you cannot avoid spending a lot of time in front of screens.
